President

Apex Association of Lavasa Property Owners

Its said that a city’s soul is always made up of its people.

The original dwellers of this region made way for Free India’s first Hill station city to come up, and Lavasa was conceived from a land mass the size of Paris and one fifth the size of Mumbai to give

India and the world a glimpse of future urban living truly blessed by and co-existing with nature.

Five self-sustaining hill towns with their own lakes and perhaps the best water quality worldwide along with a fail-safe electrical grid, and an enviable infrastructure starting with Dasve and quickly followed by Bhoni and Mugaon on the banks of Lake Waresgaon were planned and over 2000 families decided to make it their first or second homes.

Hospitality & Education are the two pillars on which most cities are built . Lavasa began to take shape with enterprise plans being setup in the forms of schools, colleges, hotels, convention centre, restaurants, retail, entertainment & adventure facilities along with banks, hospital, post office, laundromat besides safety & security services to create a self-sustaining eco-system.

Soon, several thousand construction workers were employed to complete the first three towns, even as Lavasa attracted employment for a few thousand staff working to build the city and keep its enterprise running.

Unfortunately, what began in 2009 as an enviable living enclave surpassing global standards in India, by end of 2017 , suffered due to unexpected delays and financial troubles of the builders.

Initially property owners who had chosen to make Lavasa their first or second home, didn’t know each other so they could not come together to start asking questions about possession, construction defects and more importantly plan a strategy to represent their interest and address their growing concerns.

Few enterprising individuals started informal groups and in January 2017, an informal meeting was organized at the Dasvino club which was attended by around 200 individuals when volunteers came forward to form what became known as “the core committee”.

The camaraderie and bonding helped the numbers slowly swell to over 500 property owners who were now connected and who all realized they were not alone in their identical grievances, be it regarding their non possession, or several delivery defects, broken promises.

Initially, the core committee organized social events like marathon runs, picnics etc.; later managed meetings with CMD and his directors.

This further emboldened the large growing group of property owners to form an official association.

Apex Association of Lavasa Property Owners was eventually registered in November 2018. The first formal elections were held in February 2019 and a committee of 7 members was elected.

Going forward APEX will represent Lavasa’s property owners where needed and help this beautiful city regain it’s envisioned glory.

       Lavasa Forever!!!
